This well established smoke test is in wide use throughout the world. FIRE's unit is a new ergonomic design incorporating all the necessary features in and software. The important revised version (ISO 5659 Part 2), which extends the standard to allow for horizontal sample orientation and a range of heat fluxes from 10-50 kW/m2, as well as providing for sample mass loss, can be supplied as part of the complete instrument. Alternatively, FIRE can retro-fit these facilities to existing Aminco, Newport and Stanton Redcroft smoke chambers.

  • Fixed irradiance vertical oriented heater (25kW/m2)
  • Wide door with window for easy access and cleaning
  • Instrument panel alongside chamber for easy operation and observation
  • Standard Chamber size (914 x 914 x 610mm)
  • Pneumatically operated sample positioning system guarantees correct positioning of sample every time
  • Lower and Upper vents also pneumatically operated and ensure efficient venting of smoke after a run
  • Pilot burner
  • Stabilised voltage supply to furnace as per standard
  • Digital display of chamber and radiometer temperatures
  • Easy to read chamber pressure monitor
  • Easy to replace blow-out panel
  • Built in ports to take gas sampling tubes
  • Full operating instruction manual
  • The usefulness of the smoke chamber may be extended in several ways. The important revised version according to ISO 5659 Part 2 can be supplied as part of the complete instrument or as a retro-fit to all existing Aminco, Newport or Stanton Redcroft smoke chambers.
  • Other options are available for the requirements of different organisations.

The following options are also available

  • Software and Data Acquisition System
  • Burner and additional fixtures to comply with NES 711
  • Additional fixtures to comply with ATS 1000-001 specification
  • Burner and additional fixtures to comply with ASTM F814
  • The smoke chamber with ISO 5659 Part 2 Heater is part of the Fire Test Procedure Code for IMO. In Section 2.6.2 - Toxicity, FTIR can be used for gas analysis. FIRE is able to offer a solution for this complete analysis with heated lines. For complete details consult FIRE for your requirements.
  • The software package covers the processing of data for the different options as well as for the main requirements of the National and International Standards.
