Oxygen Depletion

As a consequence of the importance of heat release measurement to the understanding of fire, oxygen depletion calorimetry is widely used in large scale tests, such as for ISO 9705 - the room corner test, for the SBI test, for furniture calorimeters and for other large scale calorimeters to a wide range of requirements. FIRE is able to supply a complete customised instrumentation console with oxygen depletion, smoke analysis as well as gas analysis for carbon monoxide and dioxide and other gases as required. In addition, complete test rigs or duct inserts fitted with the appropriate probes and with the facility to measure gas velocity can be provided.
Features
- Complete gas analysis rack that allows the user to calculate the ‘Rate of Heat Release’ of the burning sample using the oxygen depletion technique comprising:
-
Matching Integrated 19’’ rack housing
- Membrane pump and refrigeration unit
- Sample filtering, drying and conditioning
- Oxygen / CO2 analyser with pressure compensation or:
- Oxygen / CO / CO2 analyser with pressure compensation
- Rack is designed to be a 'Quick-connect/disconnect' gas analysis rack so it can be wheeled away for use on other large scale calorimeter rigs since the analysis and instrumentation used are identical for both small and large scale calorimeters. This includes our cone calorimeter.
- This arrangement allows maximum flexibility together with minimum investment to Testing Laboratories and manufacturers.
- Measurement duct Ř400mm x 1200mm complete with mounting points for:
- Ř1.0mm type K thermocouples
- Bi-directional probe to measure the flow rate by pressure difference
- Gas sampling probe
- Electronic Pressure measurement system including fittings
- Heated filter and heated sampling line to protect instrumentation
- White light Smoke measurement system comprising:
- Transmitter and receiver (linearity = 3.5 decades)
Logarithmic amplifier with connector
- Controller
- Coated glass to protect the white light system from soot deposits
- Adjustable Stainless steel holder to securely support white light system
- CE compliance.
